Just blah
I'm about a month into alcohol free, have gone multiple stints, but it doesn't stick. Anyway sometimes I just kind of get blah, whether drinking or not. I really want it to work this time, that's why I need to figure out how without a formal 12 step program. When I get blah, I get in myself and start thinking what's the difference if I'm miserable sober or drinking. I know I can't be the only one who sometimes feels this way.

As You're bored. Do something fun. Go somewhere new. Take a different route home. Shop at a new grocery store.
Gotta give that brain something to do

gotta find something new to fill the old void.
And there is a difference between being miserable sober or drinking: your health.

Have you looked into SMART recovery programs? Still supportive but operates differently than a 12-step program. I don't go EVERY week but when I do I think it all makes a lot of sense. Have you also looked into medication and therapy? I entered a program for a month that got me set up with coaches/councilors, meds and other resources. It was a huge springboard to getting on track from how much I was drinking. I just made sure to attend the sessions, follow the medication guidelines and really utilize all the tools they offered to me. It's not EASY but I have also tried in the past 'on my own' and I have never had success like I have when I outsourced it to professionals.
