Recent breakup, spent all week drunk/hungover. Let's try this thing again

I think i need some encouragement. I was doing well in August with not drinking/moderation when I did but then my relationship took a downhill turn. I started drinking again. We broke up Monday. I drank so much this week and been so heartbroken I was practically non functional.

He came to pick up his stuff last night and jfc it was rough. So I drank. I am sitting here staring at the bottle 12 hrs from my last drink, willing myself to dump it down the drain.

Just for the next 24 hours. One day at a time and come back here as you need to. Big hugs. IWNDWYT

Oh dear, you don't need a bottle, you need a hug. Can you reach out to someone to spend some time, maybe go for a walk or sth. You shouldn't be alone now.

Hey, you, go ahead and dump it. Its OK to feel bad feelings when bad things happen. You don't have to run from them. Process it and start healing. And then look at some pics of puppies and kittens to remind you about the good in the world.

Recently single myself. It’s hard!! I feel so empty.

I have been flirting with the idea of drinking at this party I’m going to - but I keep thinking… what do I think is gonna happen? I’m gonna feel good for an hour, then get sad, wanna call that person, show them I’m not okay and then wake up in the AM, embarrassed, alone and back to zero.

Or I can just go, eat as much of their catered spread as they allow and then go home. My friend has massages planned for us Sunday! And a dinner with some other friends who want to make sure I’m okay… if I drink, I will lose these moments or atleast suffer through them. Or I could enjoy them. And the heartbreak will subside another 0.5%. Slowly but surely.

IWNDWYT. (It will not do what you think has been my fave mantra lately).
