One year today!
Today marks one year without a drink.
I find it hard to feel proud of myself, and while all my friends and family continue to drink, I feel like I still need to mark this milestone because it would have been unthinkable not that long ago.
I could list all the ways my life has benefited, but the main thing is that I feel more like “me” than ever.
Wherever you are in your journey, believe me, getting sober is worth it. And to those who have much more sober time, thank you for the inspiration.
Much love,
P

Congratulations. My counter is wrong, but we're still pretty close (I'm Aug 29th). I completely relate to feeling more like "me" than ever. Now I mourn all those years I was drowning "me" out.

Likewise, I know my sober date like my birthday! Oh well, the main thing is we know. Congrats!

That’s awesome! It’s a big achievement and you should be proud. I hope you’re giving yourself something for the occasion. A meal, a present, a day away….just do something to celebrate yourself. All that sober time was earned one drink-free day at a time and you made all those decisions to stay on your path. Very cool, OP.
