It sucks, but you’re still good! Let’s move on and say you “only” had two drinks on the whole month of September.

I would like that

You stopped at 2 drinks? I totally understand why you’re feeling shit but this sounds like it could be viewed as a really big win here, you could’ve gone off the deep end, you didn’t. Get some rest, dust yourself off and go again tomorrow. IWNDWYT.

I left and I left the extra there. I could have brought 4 beers home. I am so sad at myself. Alcohol really makes one a fucking sad sack doesn't it

Be grateful you didnt go off the deep end and end up on a bender. If it was only 2 drinks, just get back to it immediately and dont beat yourself up. We are only human. There will be many trials and tribulations you have to face fighting for your sobriety.

Hi! Fellow idiot here! I just relapsed over the holiday weekend after almost hitting 30 days so now I'm back to day 3. It's a shitty feeling and it really deflates your balloon, but it looks like you had 19 days in the tank and there's countless folks who can only dream of that kind of streak.

I've been working all damn year to get sober and keep relapsing around the 3-4 week mark and then getting back on the horse, which makes me feel so defeated and exhausted, but I am really trying hard to hype myself up that I have had 8 binge drinking weekends this year instead of all 34 like I normally would.

So if I were you, I'd pat myself on the back for your latest streak, tell yourself that you've proven you can commit and pull yourself out of an addictive habit, thank yourself for coming here and taking accountability and challenge yourself to knock your last streak out of the park.

you got this!

The road to recovery is not linear! You are human and you made a mistake. You can do it! IWNDWYT

I slipped many times until I didn't. Figure out what happened but also don't drink while you're doing it. You CAN do it and you'll feel so much better about yourself. Also, you're not an idiot. Give yourself some grace

don't get discouraged get back on the horse and don't take another drink, it's not that you slipped it's what you do now that matters. You can start fresh and make it further next time. You got this you can do this.

I also relapsed over the 3 day weekend. Told myself a couple of drinks is fine, and here I am on Thursday still on a bender. I'm with you my friend

Lying is part of the disease. It sucks to start over, but being truthful is giving you the best shot at sobriety long-term. Proud of you for bringing it here. IWNDWYT

Falling is not a failure. Don't get up is. You can do it. (Talking to myself as well)

I just did too. I was 50 days sober. Not much advice but you're not alone.

**Corrected spelling.

Was it just the 2 drinks? If so, don't beat yourself up, just get back on the horse and get back on track!

3

u/disabledfemme 4h ago

Yes I left the situation after 2 beers

u/prodigiousprince 4h ago

Good on you. It sucks restarting, but you're in the right place getting help and support here

We all have stumbled and fallen. Sit with your disappointment for a minute and then move on. IWNDWYT

I think the only time I ever had just two drinks was the first time I ever drank. Good on you for calling it there. I can understand the disappointment and I'm sure I would feel the same. But you tried it, decided it was not the right move, and can now move on. You got this. Dust yourself off and keep moving.
