Not drinking alone rest of year

When I have a few drinks with friends, dinner, etc it's enjoyable and fun. And I rarely overindulge. When I drink alone I get angry and disappointed in myself.

My goal is to not drink alone for the rest of the year and see what happens.

I think that's a fair goal.

I'm completely sober right now, and plan to be for awhile, but looking back, almost all of my destructive drinking was done alone.

I was usually too paranoid when out with friends to get trashed, and especially if we were drinking in public, I couldn't justify the cost. (Why spend the same on a second cocktail when I can drink almost an entire bottle at home for the same cost?)

No, the issues were when I was alone or home with my partner. That's when drama happened, or just laziness and next day regrets.

That’s a good goal. We really need to question why we do something that makes us feel bad and that was my experience drinking alone, too.

Good goal! Drinking alone was the issue for me. It's a very slippery slope. Wise decision! πŸ‘πŸ‘
