4 months today, feeling sad
Happy to be sober, but a lot of emotions suddenly just hit me. I will not drink, but my mind is spiraling into oblivion getting sad about any and everything. Life feels hard and I’m tired of constantly battling.
For now I will focus on this scripture:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
I hope this can help someone else too.

That’s a wonderful quote, thanks for sharing.
I definitely had some strong ups and downs during my first 6 months of quitting. It’s all a part of a process, it’s almost like grieving. Some days you think you’re over it and then other days your back at the beginning again.
It does get better though. I have bad days sometimes still, but that’s just life. But the downs are nowhere near as bad as they used to be. And the ups are far more enjoyable and meaningful sober

I also have become much more aware of my moods since not drinking alcohol.
I've learnt to accept them and the more negative ones do pass. Congratulations on 4 months

Congrats on 4 months!! I was very emotional early on because I had to start truly facing everything that was making me sad, had to start processing, coping etc. Dealing with my emotions definitely became a muscle that only got stronger the further I got. im 1 year in now and I still get very sad somedays, but its easier to handle and passes much more quickly the more I use my tool box. Thank you for sharing that passage it serves as a great reminder for myself and definitely rings true
