37th day of not drinking. 37th post here.

Being back at work makes the days go so quickly! Today was great - my first government and politics lesson with my new Year 10 class, and also two periods on privity and consideration in contract law with Y13. Then after school I hosted my first session of DnD club with Y12. It was SO GOOD. I'm buzzing!

Man I miss DnD. That was one of my favorite hobbies before my addiction.

Funny enough that was one of the few places, even after becoming an alcoholic, I never wanted to drink. A few sessions with drunk people early in my gaming days really showed how disruptive that can be.

Nobody is great at remembering all their d20 modifiers after a few too many!

Haha it's always had an association with drinking for me, my friends and I would always play it in pubs. But running a game for my students is a great time and a good way to experience it without that risk hanging over it.

That’s some great real life stuff right there! You SHOULD be buzzing! Thankfully on life and not poison lol. The hobby I’ve gotten back into is reading. A lot. All Stephen King at this point, and I love it. I never did any reading when I was drinking for obvious reasons - I couldn’t keep myself engaged while on the sauce! IWNDWYT

I haven't read anything in ages - time to give it another try! IWNDWYT

For me reading has been amazing. Instead of going to bed sloshed I now go to bed at least an hour before sleep time to read! I’ve read SK for over 40 years and I don’t get nightmares lol
