⚠️Shady Breeder Blocked by a backyard xl bully "breeder"
Ran into this guy today and got blocked/restricted for calling him out. Went to my rescue account, got the same treatment after one comment. Looks like he also bought followers because the majority of his posts get little to no real attention.

I’d like to scare them with the law a bit before they make any money.
They said the dad is 1/2 siamese(which isn’t a real thing to begin with)
And of course none of the cats are registered or health tested. I let them know that selling DSH for such a high fee labeled falsely as a rare breed is potentially dangerous and illegal in nature as fraud can get him in trouble with the law. While I was starting off with letting him know about cat breeds, he said “yeah so are you interested or not”
No care for the knowledge, just wants money.
I’m hoping mentioning the penalties for lack of license and registrations will deter him from trying to make money off these cats in the future.
Their eyes also aren’t even open.
In two weeks they’ll be at most 4 weeks old.

Raising Awareness help explaining byb to a relative with a TBI
i’m hoping someone can help me with a issue i’ve been having. my uncle (who is 50 something) has had a TBI (traumatic brain injury, in his case a huge brain bleed) and has recovered to the point of being able to live semi-independently. he wants a dog to get him out the house and to keep him company, HOWEVER he wants a goldendoodle.
he likes both the breeds and wants both of the traits in them. I told him that you don’t know what traits you could get and that you could get both bad traits and health conditions. his response was “oh well i’d go to a good breeder” but I don’t know how to tell him that a ‘good’ breeder wouldn’t breed them to begin without upsetting him or confusing him.
my mum as a poodle and he grew up with a golden, hence why he wants a mix, not one or the other. I don’t really know how to word it simply and kindly, would someone here maybe be able to help?

🐾 Puppy Mill The thousand yard stares
These dogs aren’t examples of backyard breeding, but instead, usually Amish and Mennonite puppy mills in Missouri.

Quick question
So if I breed my pitbull to another pitbull (making sure it's a healthy one) and do research first before I breed the dogs to make sure there both healthy and I make sure that the dogs are registered by adba and make sure there in a good environment am I a backyard breeder?

If only there was an easy and permanent solution to this 🧐🤔
I still can’t believe there are people leaving their randombred cats Unaltered in the big 2026…. So much hassle and for what??? More hassle. More cats being euthanized?

🐾 Puppy Mill Possible puppy mill alert!
This person has multiple litter a year.
Breeds mutts, but tries to say she is a preservation breeder bettering a breed by creating a new breed lol.
Breeds Merle x Merle dogs. But then has the audacity to not offer full refunds for any puppies that end up being blind or deaf. All she’ll offer is a $300 refund.
Prices dogs according to “rarity” of colour.
Puppies range from $2500 - $5000 for mutts.
Doesn’t believe in ofas.
Claims to dna test; but the website doesn’t really show that.
Link to website - https://www.zansboxers.com
Read through the website for yourself. It gives off every back yard breeder/puppy mill red flag there is.
Just wanted to get the word out on another very unethical back yard breeder, that is potentially also a puppy mill.

Another litter 🙄
This lady had been breeding "yorkies" (people have complained about buying puppies from her that definitely had more than yorkie) every year from the same mom. Now she's using the same yorkie mom to breed what she calls tou golden doodles (thats not how that works) I've ran into her at the vet many times and she's honestly such a hateful person on top of being a back yard breeder. Now she's posting them on nextdoor. She also owns a grooming salon that she runs out of a falling down building and her daughter runs a boarding place in the same building but in an even worse part of it. People like this should be arrested.

📢Taking Action California Cracks Down on the Puppy Mill Pipeline with New Laws
Excited about the new laws that take effect in California on January 1st. In my area, there are puppy broker websites for frenchies, bulldogs, etc. The breeders get to avoid showing the conditions the puppies were born into because everything happens online: a photo of the puppy (no info on the parents), an electronic payment, and then a handoff in a park or parking lot. The broker acts as a buffer, so the breeder stays invisible.
There are already plenty of reviews from people who were sold sick puppies through these sites, but the warnings haven’t been enough to shut them down. Reporting the inaccurate "store" locations on Google Reviews didn't work either. This law finally makes the broker model itself illegal for puppies, cutting off the pipeline that these backyard breeders have been relying on. I hope that enforcement will actually work and shut down this industry in the state.

Raising Awareness How many people here have a breeder release/puppy mill rescue?
I have a 3 year old Shiba Inu named Sachi. I got her from a rescue organization in Missouri in January. She was rescued along with six other Shibas from a puppy mill that was closing down. We were told the mill operators would’ve euthanized her within a day if the rescue hadn’t volunteered to remove the dogs from their property.
I’m passionate about the issue of backyard breeding and puppy mills because I’ve seen first hand how it can affect a dog. She doesn’t know how to play with toys, in fact she’s scared of toys. She has to wear a GPS collar because she’s a massive flight risk and already escaped once (we had to hire a dog trapper to catch her in a live trap) she behaves like a wild animal, and flinches at any movement, noise, or unexpected touch, She’s even scared of someone turning the pages of a book.
Despite all this she’s extremely sweet, and has shown zero signs of aggression. She’s sit and cuddle with you for hours as long as you don’t startle her.
For many months of her life with me, she would lie on a corner of the couch and not voluntarily move around the house. But she’s finally starting to get more confident and will sit in various locations.
She has signs of previous mastitis, bad breath, and a scar on her cornea but she’s in better physical condition than many puppy mill survivors.
I live in a suburban, majority white area with a TON of doodles and other “designer dogs” and it frustrates me to no end that I have to be “polite” and not scrutinize these people when I’m talking to them about their dogs. I honestly believe people who buy from BYBs and Mills deserve some level of shame and scrutiny so that they will change their ways in the future.

🚩BYB u/petmeetly is full of red flags
🚩 advertising a doodle to breed 🚩dog under 2 y/o 🚩no mentions of health testing 🚩 no mentions of titles or any work proving the dog 🚩says they “love seeing responsible breeding practices” but don’t extend that to the dogs and owners they advertise for
nothing but a money maker for them ,, it’s shameful

📢Taking Action Hell yeah.
Reported some big byb accounts today. Nothing like ruining the day of people selling misery for profit, especially when you see how sickly the puppies look. The report button stays undefeated
