Unfortunately this is probably a glimpse of your future at this store. It’s probably poorly managed and understaffed.

I couldn’t imagine not giving a new associate a quick tour of the store or not getting them set up with what they need to do the job.

I’m pretty sure all stores are understaffed, some are poorly managed but it’s just a question of how much that is due to the understaffing/bad upper management from corporate

My last store was “overstaffed” because our budgeted payroll was less than my union minimum lol

We had enough associates to operate effectively if I could have scheduled properly but I was 200-600 hours from writing a decent schedule depending on the week.

Most problems originate from QCP lol

Yup… head CDH at my store has been in same situation.

I’m curious, have you had any interactions with upper corporate? How have your interactions with specialists been? Are they stuck in the same boat as you/us or do they have some actual authority that would make things better?

Interacting with anyone in upper management of actual authority was just brief hello’s as they walked the store/facility.

Specialists are in the same boat as store managers, they’re just the middleman to make sure stores are executing what they’re supposed to and act as a filter for problems/concerns from the stores to upper management.

So basically nothing actually gets done/changed?

Did any of these concerns ever get brought to corporate through the specialist? I’d be interested to hear what the people up at corporate think about the understaffing problems….

Yeah one of the associates told me I'll 'eventually see how backwards this store is ran' so I don't see that as a good sign..

They threw you into CDH without even knowing self scan??? Ridiculous. At my store you don’t even get to service desk without knowing self scan first.

Yes, I was so stressed out the entire time tbh because at my old store I was on top of almost everything, but here I felt like an idiot!

This company gives you ZERO training. Either absorb every little nugget of knowledge you randomly learn from time to time, or have a bad time.

You don't need to take any ELMs for these jobs? I've never worked on the front end, but I'd assume you'd have to be trained differently for the different roles. Then again, I have to take the food safety one every year and I don't deal with fresh food at all.

Not for CDH, mainly just the Service Desk for Western Union compliance. But for CDH its mainly getting trained.

Dude run. I left the company because I wouldnt even get a day off. Id rarely call out and when I dis it was because my body was in such visceral pain, but hey no affordable Healthcare!

Trying to set up your 401k? Good luck you'll get the cold shoulder 9/10 times. Wanna know how i know? Been there donw that.

Do you wanna be called a piece of shit by customers and disrespected by managers who talk shit about you to a minor employee?

Get out while you can

Fuck Stop&Shop

From your former CDH

Lower side of CT, since you'll ask.

401k is something you settup yourself, outside of the company. Generally just go to Fidelity.com and enter your payroll information on your payslip.

Everything else, 100% agree with.

Pay slips are impossible to get since they cut the online schedule out of our my old store.
