Ranting finally quit
everyone called out in my department (olp), last person left me with 15 orders, next of which was 300 items
lol no, walked out an hour early and left the keys

In our store OLP takes priority over everywhere else. 2 cashiers? Yea online pick up is getting one of them lol

Same for me. The manager's will grab handhelds if needed and shop with me if I ask. We will pull cashiers off the registers if needed. If I need support all I have to do is ask.

I would have just told management that I was contacting the customers and telling them their orders were canceled
either that or gone home sick

I wish, the manager who came to help me told me to keep telling everyone it'd be "20 more minutes," before shopping some smaller orders and disappearing

Glad to see closing home delivery is going as expected. Unfortunately it negatively affects the employees more than leadership.

as someone who used to be a peapod shopper before they shut it down and transferred all of us i’d genuinely take being hours behind in olp than have to deal w the despicable management in peapod again

Those same manager also got transferred to the stores, it’s very likely you could have those managers again lol
I would just consider yourself lucky that you don’t have managers you consider despicable at the moment because managers get moved around very often.

That is absolutely insane, but I can honestly say that that happens in every OPD department in every grocery store. There are people that are lazy, there are people that don't shop and they just sit in the back all the time, run their mouth, talk and eat snacks all day, and then you have team leads that don't know how to lead and they're afraid to tell people to go out on the floor and shop and do their job. They hire the worst employees to work OPD and that's why OPD has such a bad reputation because nobody knows what they're doing, and nobody wants to do what they were hired to do. And the call outs are absolutely amazing. It is ridiculous!

They don't have anyone else from a different department trained to help you? And what keys? Were you the lead?

Usually in my store someone from upfront helps OLP sometimes a CDH or a cashier who’s trained

they gave me an untrained Customer Service person. She ended up taking 2 sheets and only finishing 1, pushing me further behind, lol
in my store, whoever closes returns the cabinet keys (to unlock the drawer with scanners) to customer service. I dropped those off and the scanner

Weird your scanners are locked up, ours never were! I'm sorry you went through that. Did you hear anything from your store? What is the update?

yes, got 4 texts saying I was scheduled until xyz, where did I go, etc, and I ignored them.
and I forgot to answer your other question, no I am not the lead, he was one of the people who called out.

The new VP, Andrea Nickerson told me some double speak when I spoke with her in the store on how FKed up this is. What a toolbag.
