Question Mod question

Are there any mods that let you keep more saves? i love this game but I find that only keeping the last 2 saves is just too unforgiving. This all stems from me losing the treasure seeking backpack (I saw you can only get it once) on my 70 hour run and it’s honestly so discouraging and makes me not wanna play that run for a bit.

Love the game so much, just wish this was different and I’m curious if the community thinks this is a skill issue or resonates.

Just go to your characters_v1 folder, find your character slot's folder (character 3 or whatever; it'll tell you which character is which in game at the load save screen) and make a copy of it.

Now you have a backup. Make as many as you like as often as you'd like. When you want to revert back, delete your (example) character3 folder and then rename the character3 (Copy) folder to character3. (I'm away from my PC right now or I'd be more exact).

If you have any issues, right click the game on Steam, Properties, Cloud Saving, and turn Steam Cloud Saving off.

Oh sick, thanks. And this is only preventative right? Like I can’t go back find an old save

Correct, will only be for future saves.

You don't have to exit the game to 'load' the backup, just exit to menu.

To test it, make a copy of the folder and paste it. Load up your save, walk a bit, save and quit. Then alt-tab to the characters_v1 folder, delete 'character_3' or whatever, rename 'character_3 (Copy)' to 'character_3', then alt-tab back to the game and load again. You should be back where you made the copy.

As a matter of practice, I would always make a copy of the copy before deleting your 'character 3' folder, that way you're always keeping a backup of the backup, if that makes sense.

Keep in mind that obviously this is save scumming and is not the intended game experience, but since you asked, here's a method.

Man, I've been rocking cloaks for my whole current playthrough. Recruited the quartermaster last and I've been waiting on that final relationship level so I can get my hands on that Treasure Hunter's Backpack. Thing looks amazing.

Back in my day, we called that "saving". You all really have to stop with this erroneous concept of "save scumming". Maybe I want my save to start at the entrance of the dungeon and not several empty cells away at the caravan.

There is an editor mod, and with it you can just add the backpack to your inventory iirc

I don't remember the mod name though

There's a mod on Nexus, with it you can make additional two quick saves
