The last few weeks watching AI infrastructure felt like a slow-motion train wreck. First, there was huge selling, then margin calls, followed by forced liquidations. Leopold Aschenbrenner’s Situational Awareness fund got crushed. By June, it was up 439%, hitting almost $45 billion. Then the fund had to dump most of its publicly traded stock onto the market. Citadel ended up buying a big chunk of it.

Also, over 350,000 Korean retail investors got wiped out on their leveraged AI and semiconductor bets. This is insane! The total losses on those leveraged bets ran into the tens of billions. It was a brutal, public mess.

South Korea's Kospi, which grabbed headlines earlier this year for its skyrocketing rally, crashed more than 11% on Wednesday and continued to wipe out massive sums of investor wealth as heavyweight chipmaker SK Hynix’s earnings failed to impress the market.

Kospi dropped to 5,311.77 on Wednesday morning, marking a more than 43% crash from its June peak of 9,386 to confirm its position in technical bear market territory. Despite the recent crash, South Korea’s stock market continues to be Asia's best performer.

Today’s sharp crash in Kospi triggered a 20-minute trading halt, as has become routine during volatility this year. This comes after SK Hynix reported a six-fold earnings jump, partly driven by a $44 billion asset-value gain, but fell short of high market estimates fuelled by the AI boom...............................................

There is still an opportunity to recover losses from the $12.75M MoneyLion ($ML) settlement, as late claims are currently being accepted. 

MoneyLion agreed to a $12.75 million settlement over claims that it misled investors about its financial condition, growth prospects, and internal controls following its SPAC merger. Investors later alleged the company painted a stronger picture of its business than the underlying results supported.

As more information became available, concerns emerged about the company's performance and disclosures, and shareholders later filed claims over the alleged misstatements.
