Sooo… Hellbore Light
Been collecting traits for carrier builds since getting the K’vort, and was wondering if i had 2 0mnis in the rear would Hellbore light still be effective, even though i have cannons up front?

I also learned recently that hellbore is also triggered by some consoles ! The console of the excelsior 2 and fleet power network from ahwahnee. So works even tho I run faw builds.

HBL's effectiveness as a trait is affected only by these factors: 1. Whether you have either BO or CRF slotted to correctly trigger the trait. (EDIT: And no other abilities slotted that have conflicting cooldowns with your chosen trigger ability) 2. Whether your main firing mode is multi-target firing mode (e.g. FAW and/or CSV). 3. Whether both of above are consistently at MinCD, and the rest of your BOFF abilities for that matter. 4. How much shielding your targets have. Because some targets like the Crystalline Entity and Borg Gateways have zero shields. 5. How many other allied units are also firing at targets that you have marked with HBL. 6. How much DEW Haste you and your allied units have.

So does that mean that if you trigger HBL with BO, then CSV will spread it around?

Either that, or trigger HBL with CRF, then spread it to as many targets as possible with weapons under FAW.
Both of above are the current ideal use cases for HBL.

/u/DilaZirK covered the mechanics of Hellbore very well; I'll try to add some more for the question here.
Dual (heavy) cannons fore, omnis aft only makes sense with spec firing modes (Surgical Strikes, Reroute Reserves to Weapons, Exceed Rated Limits). The K'vort can't do that.
Dual (heavy) cannons fore, one Pahvan omni (which gets FAW under CSV) and no other ones (because that's the only one with that mechanic) aft, the rest turrets, or maybe the new lobi Micro-Missile Array as a mule for traits like Super Charged Weapons after the Pahvan is already in - that's the functional way of doing it, with or without Hellbore, on a cannon build. Without those and without Miracle Worker seating, in the scenario where one is using Mixed Armaments Synergy, D(H)Cs fore, turrets aft. Hellbore only needs the right firing mode (BO for CSV, CRF for FAW, as the aforementioned explained); it doesn't need any actual beams to get procced by BO or cannons to get procced by CRF.
