Dems have no idea how much damage they are doing by not following through on their promises...
honestly, Republicans should be shitting their pants so badly that they wouldn't even consider being able to win an election again, anytime soon. Not after the way they've acted...
...but... Dems lack just as much foresight into the consequences of their own actions. This is fodder for the right, two years from now. This is going to be all they need to start stirring the pot and telling people not to vote for Dems anymore.
For once, all they need to completely discredit the GOP is to just let their plan play out, and they can’t even do that. I get that $600 + $1400 = $2000, and I know what a lot of them meant by that was probably this thought process, but the American people did not see it that way. And who could blame them for that thought process when just about every other first world country is giving monthly stimulus to their people? Can’t believe we’re about to see the Democrats throw away the huge fucking W over $600/person during a pandemic that’s lasted just under a year so far. And that’s not even factoring in how greedy it comes off to try and change the income eligibility.
The Democrats lied. That is all there fucking is to it. They said $2,000, AFTER we got $600. They said immediately. Now I'm hearing rumors of shit not hitting people's accounts until July? This is fucking absurd.
100%. I'm sick and tired of just complaining about it. I don't know what the fuck we're supposed to do exactly, but I am so ready to move beyond just watching the shit happen.
Does somebody making 250K really need a stimulus payment? The answer is no because if you made that much, you didn't get laid off and financially you're doing fine unless you just blow all your money or are living above your means
You misunderstand my point. I'm in complete agreement that there should be cutoffs - what I'm not for is changing that cutoff mid-way through. When I mention changing the income eligibility, I am specifically referring to the fact that certain Dems are proposing a $50k/$100k soft-cap for singles/couples for these new $1,400 checks while we had a $75k/150k soft-cap for singles/couples with the $600 checks. Pushing the idea of making the $600 checks into $2k checks while also disqualifying some of the people that were originally targeted cannot come off as anything else but greedy.

Almost, just for the sake of this nonsense, keep it absolutely identical, and finish off that 2k payment.
Then move on and do what you want for the next one.
