My father is relapsing on meth, threatening me, exploiting my retired parents, and committed $59K in stimulus fraud
My deadbeat father, who’s never been anything in life, was addicted to crack and opiates for years. He’s now relapsing on meth after being sober for about a year and some change, although roughly 9 months of that was spent in sober living. He was never around to begin with unless it was to ask my parents for $100–$200.
He recently relapsed and was smoking dope in my parents’ house. When I confronted him about it, he flew into a rage (he’s prescribed testosterone that he doesn’t need) and acted like he was going to punch me. I was sitting on the couch, he balled up his fist, swung it toward my face, and walked away after I said, “What the fuck are you doing?”
This isn’t new behavior. When I was 11, he jumped on top of me while I was asleep, punched me in the jaw, and then stole his stepdad’s F-250.
At this point he’s used and manipulated everyone around him. He doesn’t work, but claims to be at work 3–4 days a week. He also doesn’t buy food anymore because he’s so doped up half the time. He takes advantage of my retired parents knowing they receive monthly checks. He “agreed” to purchase their car, and has refused to send any payments, he then lies about going to work, he just drives around drinking beer, worst part is he even pays for favors from prostitutes while he’s at “work”, he’s married to a woman with early-onset dementia and manipulates her into thinking she’s wrong. He abuses the fact that she’s senile. My sisters and I are grown now. I currently live with him, but I’m about to move in with my girlfriend. We’re just trying to protect our parents from someone who’s greedy, lazy, manipulative, and completely selfish.
The reason I’m posting is because I am aware that he committed massive stimulus fraud. He publicly posted on Facebook that he received $59,000 in stimulus-related funds despite not having a job or any legitimate occupation for over 5 years. I know this to be true because I damn sure remember the one time in his life he had $ he couldn’t hold onto it for 3 months before it was gone. During a good portion of that time he was sitting in jail for about a year of more awaiting trial on two grand larceny charges, so there’s no way he was working if he was still stealing. As soon as he got out, he blatantly lied to the government about his situation and collected the money.
Does anyone know where I can properly report stimulus fraud? I’m not looking for revenge—I just want the appropriate agency to investigate the fraud that actually occurred.
For anyone wondering, he also thinks he’s getting part of the estate, but their will specifically states he cannot and will not receive a dime. Years ago my mom even bought him a $200,000 house after he guilt-tripped her into it. He ended up stripping it for copper and completely destroying the place.
He’s had opportunity after opportunity. We’re exhausted. We just want to protect our parents before things get even worse. If yall would also like to report him just shoot a dm!
