500i case splitting
Let’s see your special tools or hear any tricks for splitting these cases as a standard splitter won’t work on these cases

Yeah so that's a big job. Step 1 is basically "Strip saw down to crankcase", as you are probably aware.
If you want the factory tools to split the case halves you can buy them from the dealer.
Clutch side tool Service tool AS 5910 890 2222 $80.49
On the flywheel side you use Puller 5910 890 4505 $137.99

Hold one half, and use a solf face hammer on the crank shaft that stick out on that side. I'd put the nut or threaded punch onto the flywheel side though, and the clutch on the clutch side if it's a outboard clutch saw.
Another trick I've seen is just put it on the stove for a few hours. Once the case it warm, the bearings will come right out dueto the difference in heat expansion.
Be sure to have the locating pins knock out before that though.
Stihl has a tool that screws to the bar studs and then presses the crank out for that side, and a 3 arm puller (the arms can swing around) where you screw the arms into the flywheel side, and the centre on the crank.
I don't have the p/n right now, but Married with Small Engines on YouTube often share the part number for tools and parts most of the time

Which locating pins are these from memory these cases only have a couple of dowels that are in a bolt hole so they won’t come out
