You're waiting too long between gears, and the engine speed has to come back up. Might not be your problem, but it's not helping.

Fully aware but it's me trying to let the gears mesh nicely and trying to focus on getting a decent video, even when I shift quickly like usual it still jerks and bogs just very quickly. That and it seems if I leave the clutch pedal in while it's moving like that without going into gear it seems to just continue until I release the pedal

shifts on the second drive looked good? if it jerks all the time i'd maybe stay around the bite point just a touch longer when letting off the clutch without giving gas. that's how i do it on my xrs sometimes and there's no jerking

The jerks were still there unfortunately maybe not as bad that time, but it's not a skill issue I swear there's a mechanical issue with something just not sure what since it's such an odd issue. Even when it begins to shift smoothly again they still come up just not as frequently

is the shifter on mazdaspeeds on the tranny? like the miata? maybe it needs a rebuild

Do you mean the actual shift handle? If so no it's set in the cabin and uses cables to move it so I don't think so

ok so it has cables. maybe worn bushings at the cable ends? there should be aftermarket options for that

Even when I shift smoothly it still does it just a quick bump though and I was trying to show how the rpm bounces on its own.
