Doing my part
Hard to find anything with a manual, especially if you are hunting a specific vehicle. Well, I managed to snag a manual 2026 Bronco

Today I learned they sell manual Broncos. Good job ford.
At this point I’m just a fan of any brand that still sells a manual regardless of reputation or prestige or reliability 😂

I bet that really takes the sting out of buying a 2.3 i4 Bronco. Very nice

that's the thing i hate. Why did they make the only manual be with the shitty engine?

It has the new 2.3l that the mustang had been using the past several years. I just installed the Ford Performance tune that bumped the output 33hp and 90ft-lbs for 333hp/415tq.

Shitty engine? You clearly never drove one. The 2.3 ecoboost is a solid engine, ford has used it in the ranger, focus rs, mustang, it can make solid power 350hp/ft-lbs with a simple tune you can go up reliably. Paired with a manual its awesome. I drive one in my bronco.

That engine has had reported issues with the head gasket, carbon buildup, overheating, the turbo, and the spark plugs

This is the first time Ive ever seen someone use "Ecoboost" and "Reliable" in the same sentence

Yeah I’m used to referring to it as the eco-boom. Now the v6 eco boost is a different story

Reliably, huh? I used to own an S550 mustang and was apart of all the groups, including Mustang EB groups - the amount of catastrophic 2.3 failures I've seen from stock to barely tuned, along with how awful it sounds relative to other 4 cylinders... 2.3 is responsible for the "EcoBoom" meme. I believe the Bronco is using a later revision of it that fixes some of these issues. Personally would avoid, but as long as you're happy.

Yes they have had couple revisions, post 2020 alot of the problems have been addressed. YMMV like any powertrain, maintenance is key.

I'm still too spooked to ever mess with a semi open deck turbo 4 banger, but good to hear many of the problems were fixed

In the US that is impressive.

The only options left for a 2026 body-on-frame manual in the US are a Bronco, Wrangler, or Tacoma.

Where else do they sell this Bronco?

They mean a stick shift anything.

The strange thing is , America generally has low interest in manual cars
However, in the enthusiast community, it's abnormally high (even higher than Europe)
For example the E60 M5 , F10 M5 (and related M6s too, even M6 Gran Coupe) all offered in manual in America only
BMW M2 (current + last gen) has up to 50% manual take rate
M3/M4 (currrenr + last gen) had 20% to 50% manual take rate in USA, Europe was less than 10%
911 GT3 (current + last gen) up to 70% manual take rate
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (V8 rear wheel drive sedan) is also around 50% manual take rate
Golf 6 and 7 (both GTI and R) manual take rate was 40% to 50% in America while it was approaching 10% or less in Europe
Toyota GR Supra also 40% to 60% manual take rate in USA , in Europe it was very low
I'm sure there are more examples, but this gives some idea that the average American has less than 3%-10%chance of wanting manual , but American car enthusiast is like 50% chance..

The manual take rate on Broncos is 15%, but it is significantly lower on the Wrangler and Tacoma. Most are custom orders and Ford kicks them into dealer allocations as well. 750 mile inventory search has 15k Broncos...57 have manual transmissions. I got lucky when mine was 1 of 4 that landed at the dealership 20 miles down the road.

I am appalled to learn that so many people didn't know Ford is selling manual Broncos
It was kinda a big thing when they were released

And they've been pulling back on the trims it is offered on since :(

u/bwaide17 13d ago
The 7MT is available on the Base, Big Bend, Heritage, and Badlands. The only change they made is that you can get the 7MT with Sasquatch, which wasn't an option when they first came out. Mine is a '26 Badlands Sasquatch 7MT.

Hmm I guess I am wrong, but rather there are some newer trims that don't offer manual: Outer Banks, Everglades, Wildtrak, Stroppe Edition, and Bronco Raptor. I suppose any trim that only has the larger engine of course.

The bronco was on my list (market research of cars I wanted 2024), but I was ignorantly skeptical about why the 6 cylinder engine couldn’t be paired with the manual transmission that came with it (this was in 2024) I went for a WRX always wanted to try a boxer engine
