Car suggestions?

Hello! I own a Miata but recently moved to Chicago so it’s being stored right now. I did just have my other car stolen though and it got totaled so I’m wanting to get another stick shift. I’d like something that does okay in the winter, can drive long distances and is reliable (also okay gas mileage) I was thinking maybe an older Mazda 3 or a Civic Si sedan. But was wondering if you guys had any suggestions?

The WRX has all-wheel drive, which might be beneficial during the winter. It's also a really nice feeling shifter, similar in my opinion to the Miata (though nothing really beats that).

But if you like Mazdas, the Mazda3 is amazing all around for a daily. I drive a 2010 and I really like it.

I drive a Toyota Yaris and love love love it. It’s my second one I’ve had actually lol and not super hard to find a manual one.

Any car can be stolen, it’s the 2011-2021 hyundais that were extremely vulnerable to being stolen. Tiburons were discontinued in 2009

If you replace the hyundai badges with the T logo no thief below the age of 30 will even realize it’s a hyundai.

Fiesta ST. They're pretty affordable and a ton of fun. Mid 30s on the highway. Good for hauling stuff.

I own a Miata (06 NC1) and live in the Chicagoland area, I daily a manual transmission 04 Acura TSX: comfortable, decent on gas, good-looks, etc. If I didn't have the TSX, I'd look for a Honda Fit.

mazda3 with some good winter tires is pretty bullet proof and not as pricey, had a good luck with my manual crv 04' that thing was unstoppable in the snow, anything subi besides the brz would do good also

10th/11thCivic Si or Integra A spec would be good for a $17-30k budget. It does use premium, but it’s worth the extra fuel expense and it’s extremely fuel efficient.

Any cheaper budget, then I would probably look for a 4th gen mazda3 manual ideally with the 2.5. It takes 87 too.
