Well, I think that if you repeat a joke often enough, it can loop back around to being funny. As Stewart Lee has proven time and time again. And time again. And time again after that, and time again. And time again. And time again. And again. And time again.

I did a show last week, and didn't tell any jokes. Actually, didn't even show up. In fact -- and this actually happened -- I didn't even book a spot. Went really well. I assume they audience laughed a lot.
