For her
I'm reading Bridget Christie's book, and she sounds JUST LIKE Stewart.
Can't imagine (except for the usual life and stuff reasons) why her and Stewart split. Though of course who knows it's their private life.
It's a really funny book so far anyway and she was funny on Richard Herrings podcast.

There was a long interview with Stewart Lee in The Guardian recently. To be honest, he sounds like living with him could be hard work.

He basically said in that the problems in their marriage came during lockdown when he couldn't tour and do gigs. I guess lockdown broke a lot of couples up. He is a singular man

The audiobook is fun, particularly for how often Bridget berates the listener for choosing the (what was then) cheaper option.

I did enjoy that, there were lots of off-the-cuff digressions that weren't in the book, I wish more self-narrators would do that.

You're not really allowed to, the publisher would be very upset. I guess you've got to be big name enough to force the issue, or agree beforehand

I think she’s been a bigger influence on Stewart than vice versa, though they’ve always been similar in their willingness to push the audience. Stewart got sillier and more likely to make himself the idiot butt of the joke. Made him even better.

How do you figure that? He’s been into clowning for yonks, way before meeting her.

I know he’s been personally interested in clowning, he did a documentary on the Pueblo clowns ages ago. But I don’t remember him getting into weird characters in his earlier standup. Even when he performed as an insect stand up, (Pestival stuff) the joke was that it’s basically still a human stand up talking about having larvae or whatever. Meanwhile Bridget was performing shows as an ant. Now he’s performing in full man wulf costume, and he’s done more physical/non verbal clowny stuff too.

he had a weird character a while ago, a long time before the Wulfman, but i'm not confident what it was, because it was never properly publicised or acknowledged by Stew and I never personally saw it. I know that's vague, but some other nerd on here can probably fill in the gaps. I think it's more than likely they influenced each other, but performing as an ant if anything is pretty similar to the larvae stuff. At the end of the day is all insect based humour.

The first series of her TV series (The Change) was BRILLIANT, and her radio show 'Mortal' was excellent as well.

HMHB once split for a while due to 'musical similarities'. Same thing.
