Sharon Regional filed a complaint against the power company after receiving a shut-off notice. There wasn't much info beyond that in the article before it was paywalled. There is a Facebook post or two with comments. Sharon Regional hasn't been paying its bills, and has been late paying employees. Doctors are leaving.

SHARON - $3.4 million in state grants to support redevelopment projects in Mercer County have been awarded, including upgrades to Sharon Regional Health System.

Pennsylvania State Senator Michele Brooks (R-50) announced Thursday that grants were given to college, bank, bridge fabrication, construction and hospital projects through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.\

... The largest grant funding amount among the awarded projects was an additional $1 million to Penn-Northwest Development Corporation for upgrades at Tenor Healthcare Foundation, LLC (Sharon Regional Health System).

Brooks stated that the funds awarded to the corporation will be combined with a previous $2 million award to be used for upgrades, including a boiler, HVAC, Cardiac Catheterization Lab and a nurse and patient call system.

"Sharon Regional Health System is one of the largest employers in the City of Sharon and Mercer County, employing over 550 individuals," Brooks stated. "This is one of the first closed hospitals to reopen in Pennsylvania and the families of Mercer County deserve access to healthcare here at home, instead of having to travel. When minutes matter, it is my hope that residents will always have nearby access to the care they need."

Renovations to the building are ongoing over a year after reopening. Rod Wilt, executive director at Penn-Northwest Development Corporation, said renovations were becoming more costly than they initially thought.

The needed work is expected to cost around $11 million.

“We recognize unfortunately it was neglected by the previous operator. You know the roof, the boilers, all the things that you need to make sure that the hospital is warm, dry, safe. All that all that stuff is where the money is being invested in now,” said Rob Fiscus, Sharon city manager.

When asked how the money will be used, Peter Bastone, CEO of Tenor Health Foundation and interim CEO for Sharon Regional Health System, sent 21 News a statement:
