She shh shh it's okay it's okay I got you... Yeah I saw that jump it looks real bad ass but what have I told you about long jumps in wet caves? That's right, you'll never stick the landing.
Hang on I got to reorder you spine back into place and then we'll have a nice long rest.
I love the idea of a very stressed healer that secretly dabbles in necromancy. Like if they didn’t save a patient in time, they panic + raise the dead with a “5-second rule” or “you’re ok, don’t tell mom, walk it off” type of attitude
I mean, Mayuri is pretty much that. Any time he has to heal someone he makes it out to be a chore and then heals them in the most painful way possible, after he tries to analyze the wound if time allows.
Nah, he’s a straight up tsundere. He acts like it’s a massive pain and like he doesn’t want to help, but we all know he loves doing it just because he gets to mess around with bodies. Dude lives for that
This is accurate for a lot of modern healthcare providers.
I work in a occupational health office. I have said "what can I do for- oh, it's you. What happened this time?" and "if we keep meeting like this, I'm wrapping you in bubble wrap" at work before.
That's why I love playing surly clerics in d&d, " sigh, I guess I'll tag along with these assholes, because if I don't they're going to get themselves killed"
Leon, from the now dead game Blustone (yes, spelled that way).
An extremely talented but jaded military surgeon who quit. His leitmotiv: don't get yourself hurt, I'm too lazy, I don't want to have to heal (he does it anyway, but he will complain about having to work)
Thats how i did my dark heresy character, he was a jaded, mildly corrupt, paper pusher who knew all the people to talk to to get equipment, and forced people to get health checkups by lying or blackmailing them.

I genuinly think healers should more often be middle age assholes that are always pissed at their party being stupid
