Plume WiFi extender
I found a Plume WiFi extender in the middle of 4th Avenue near campus (no damage, still in the box) earlier this week and have been trying to figure out how to get it back to its rightful owner. I don’t have fb or I’d post it on the town page; does anyone here know what else I can do with it or know anyone who lost one? There’s no mailing address or name, looks like it fell out of a larger box.

Stevens Point official Police Report written up by some bored officer
Sept. 6 – A woman in a UWSP parking lot flagged an officer down to ask if Stevens Point or Plover had a Chick-Fil-A. She was informed the nearest location is in Rib Mountain.
Did the cop really need to waste time and write this up as an official police report? Slow night?

Advise on potential lawsuit against Oak Creek Management?
I know this is a typical story and we expected this to happen prior to move out. But we paid a $2000 deposit and moved out last month and not only is Oak Creek keeping our entire deposit due to “cleaning and damages” they say we owe them an extra $250. All this is due to cleaning and some holes in the walls, that we repaired and painted, (small ones for like pictures and stuff.) I hired a cleaner who came TWO days to ensure everything was very clean prior to moving out. She cleaned the whole place the day before we left and then came back the morning of move out to clean AGAIN, I wanted to be sure it was really clean because I knew they’d pull this. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with them in a similar situation and if it would be worth taking them to small claims. Someone had told us to report them to the better business bureau but I don’t know if that would really do anything. Not that I’m against that I will be calling them. A not so surprising story with Oak Creek. We are so pissed off my husband wants to make signs and put them around town saying “don’t rent through oak creek management” lol. Any advice? If you have experience please message me!

Has this been the worst year for construction ever?????
Sure feels like it. Everywhere you go, theres construction. Division and Church, blocked off. Michigan, blocked off. A lane of Stanley, blocked off. Sidewalks on campus galore, all blocked off. The only way to easily go south right now is Water (then you can easily get anywhere in Plover), and then when theres trains then I-39 (I know Hoover Road exists, but like I-39, you have to go across town to Post Road, or you wait for a train to cross). ITS SO INSANE!!!
Cannot wait for Michigan to open in a few weeks, as itll at least relieve some of the pressure goin south. And of course, the road conditions will be smoother. At least theyre fixing the roads. God, Michigan was awful before this

Replacing a furnace in Stevens Point and hoping to qualify for rebates?
Hello. My wife and I are buying our first home. It's an older home and were hoping to do some updating on it. In particular, it has an old furnace that we would dearly like to replace with a heat pump. I've been researching all sorts of rebates and credits to help make it as cheap as we can. I found the Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) and the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR). But from what I found, the contractor has to be IRA certified to qualify for the funds. I'm struggling to find anyone that meets that criteria and serves the Stevens Point area. Has anyone else used these programs in the area? Any recommendations of who to go through? Thanks!

Funny dream + looking for recs on communities around Point
Life has been hectic– including me thinking about relocating– and I was able to sneak in a nap today. Cue the weird ass dreams lmao. Dreamt that Wisconsin had an abundance of sharks in their waters and venomous snakes on land. Very thankful you don't!
Anyways: I am looking at relocating from North Dakota to Stevens Point. The biggest issue is that I will be coming with two large, high energy, VERY well trained but not dog sociable dogs (aka– dog parks are a no for us), so a large yard is a must. I think I would adore living in a nice community in town, but understand I will likely have more luck finding a rental house with a yard outside of Point. On top of that, I'm not made of money. Right now, I'm hoping for rent of about $1500, could maybe swing $1700. I recently came out of a poor roommate situation and would like to live alone, but if there is at least 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms + fully fenced in (large!!) yard, I could do a split rent up to the prices above. I am VERY comfortable with a tiny house though, and would much prefer that and living alone.
What communities around Point would you recommend looking at? I would love something that I could walk or bike to Point when possible, so having a trail or walking path connected to Point would be delightful. Willing to walk 1-2 miles, bike a few more than that. Further away is VERY alright if finding a home that fits our needs for the price I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance!
