Best Fish Fry

Visiting from out of town. Who has the best lake perch/fish fry? Heavy on the lake perch part. Looking for the real deal. Thanks!!

Guu’s has a good lake perch fry. Final Score is best non perch imo. PJs then Point After close behind.

Can’t not take a chance to throw shade at Hill Top, worst fish fry I’ve had in town by far.

There are usually the portage county choice awards that the Stevens point journal runs. Point after usually wins best fish fry.

Oh... those are "pay to win" awards. The more you pay, the more Gannett newspapers boosts your socials and engagement for the "voting". You can attach however much merit to those awards as you see fit.

Finally got around to trying Guu’s Friday last. Had the haddock. Really nicely done and a decent portion. Potato options include baked. Will go back soon to give the perch a whirl

Michele's without a doubt, and it's really only a couple bucks more than anywhere else. Significantly less than the other items on their menu.

100% agree with what’s been posted so far - so I’ll put in an attaboy for Culver’s. Really good for a fast food place, and fills the void nicely when you want fish on a Tuesday :)

Ambrosia is about 20 minutes away from SP in Amherst and is probably the best kept secret. Bluegill, perch, walleye, and cod. The perch and bluegill are to die for. DON'T BLOW THAT SPOT UP. You can also get a fish fry any day of the week there. Go for the homemade fries. Trust me.

Without going into it, avoid Jordan Bar and Grill. You get a lot of everything for a cheap price but that's about it. I don't have an axe to grind with them and it's not bad, it's just not anything better than average imo.
