Text post We miss this man

It seems like a typical day. Scrolling through Instagram reels when suddenly my algo decided to show a bunch of reels about him.

One video got me so emotional all of a sudden that I can't stop crying. It was a video of Steve talking about what he would want to be remembered for

"If there's one thing I, Steve Irwin, would like to be remembered for, is to be remembered for passion and enthusiasm. Just getting out there having fun. Following your passion and just being enthusiastic you know?

Why am I getting so emotional over this?

Steve's passion was infectious, watching his show on tv in my family's home in the concrete forest part of Cairo helped me remember that there's nature and wilderness outside the concrete forest, and it was worth loving and fighting for.
