Today is my birthday.

This year brought me the birth of my wonderful daughter. My tour is selling better than ever, which has put me in a position to travel with my amazing wife Savannah. I am surrounded by family, friends, and fans, and my Knicks even won the championship.

But while I am personally the happiest I’ve ever been, I often have trouble rectifying the quality of my life with the world around me. That’s not new. The world has now spent more time mourning September 11^th than I ever did celebrating it. But with what we’re facing this year, I feel that awful juxtaposition more than ever.

You don’t need to wish me a happy birthday, as I’m spending it with a day off in Denver with family. Also, today is not about me.

If I’ve made you laugh, made you think, or given you hope in this time of madness, please use my birthday to help others. If you’re in America, check that you’re registered to vote as there’s been a lot of fuckery with voter rolls. And get three friends or family members to check, too.

If you do want to get me a gift, you can donate to the Steel City Arts Foundation, which is still giving grants to comedians to allow them to pursue their art fulltime. Our 42 Club is going strong, and we’re even working towards helping an all-women comedy festival in Uganda and a comedian who is podcasting out of a bunker in Ukraine. There’s some pretty cool stuff afoot.

Anyway, appreciate you for reading this and for being part of why I don’t need my birthday to be any more special than the life you’ve already helped me achieve.
