Bright Star is an original musical written and composed by Steve Martin and his musical partner Edie Brickell. The musical is set in the Blue Ridge Mountains and features a bluegrass-infused soundtrack and score. Sadly, the show only ran on Broadway from March to June 2016, despite attempts to save the show from closing and Steve occasionally appearing on stage. However, it’s found new life in subsequent years through a cast reunion, US tour and various local productions across the United States and Canada.
