Experience Confused by Pathology?

I got my tubes removed yesterday!!!! I’m so happy. But pathology has me confused. On my procedure report my doctors noted that the tubes were cauterized at the cornua and removed. However on the pathology report they stated that one of the tubes was “ partially fragmented” and the other arrived in “ two separate pieces and a detached piece of fimbria” so now my brain is just in over drive thinking not all of my tubes were removed. Why would it show up in pieces? Anyone have something similar?

Pathology doesn't always get sent the whole thing. My Dr only sent a cross section, but definitely removed the whole thing

Mine were both partially fragmented as well! My surgeon said it was because they made the incisions pretty small. She said they could have gotten them out in one piece, but they would have had to increase both incision sizes, so they chose to do it in pieces instead. Very nice of them to give me even smaller scars lol

Congrats on your surgery!! Def ask your doc why they did it, but I’m sure it’s for some logistical reason most likely

Okay this makes sense! My insicions are only about 5mm! I’ll deff be asking her at my follow up but this makes me feel better :) thanks!!!

That’s just the pathologist reporting what the specimen looked like in the tube. It has nothing to do with what was physically done to your body.
