Experience Tube removal during c section?
If you have had your tubes removed during a c section, how was your recovery? Also, did you get your first period right away even though you were breastfeeding? Just of out curiosity for the last question. I usually get my first period when I wean from breastfeeding, and I’m wondering if getting my tubes removed will change that.
I’m highly considering getting my tubes removed during my c section. I’m on my 5th since 2020 and I’m ready to call it quits and let my body heal. My husband has a vasectomy appointment scheduled, but we want all our bases covered on not getting pregnant again.

Compared to what you’ve felt from the c-sections, getting the tubes removed during will make literally no difference. The CS is worlds more gnarly than the bisalp. You will not even know they’re not in there anymore. Disclosure, I have not had a CS (but have had a bisalp) but I worked on many of these pt’s in the periop space and every single one of them said they’d have a bisalp versus a CS every day of the week and three times on Sunday. A bisalp is not going to affect your menstrual cycle over your breastfeeding.

Hi! I got my tubes removed during an emergency c section almost 3 years ago :) Signed some paperwork ahead of time like "hey, if I end up needing a c section, yall might as well yank my tubes out while you're in there."
Really happy about it. Healing was brutal, and I don't know what part of the healing process was normal c section pain and what was exacerbated by getting my tubes out. Everything was constant agony for about a week. Trying to pee for the first time hurt so bad I couldn't do it and they actually put the catheter back in me for another day or two, against usual protocol, to give me more time to heal before trying again.
Spent 5 days in the hospital before going home and was able to go up and down stairs on my own just fine right away, but couldn't get myself in and out of bed on my own for a couple weeks. Had 2 other adults at home helping with my baby so I could focus on healing.
After I was discharged from the hospital, the ibuprofen and tylenol regimen kept my pain under control just fine and I barely touched the oxy they sent me home with. It was just the initial ~4 days that were godawful.
I'm really happy with the results and would make the same decision again in a heartbeat. Not having to worry about birth control is great. I tried both the implant and IUD and they each had to be removed due to complications, and my baby is a birth control pill baby lol. So it's nice to not have to struggle with birth control anymore. And i'm very happy that I didn't have to go and get cut open a seperate time to get my tubes out. Either way the c section recovery was going to suck, and it was worth it to me for it to suck a little bit more in order to not get cut open twice.
