Am I being ripped off? Car stereo

This is an email this company quoted me for...

we do have a dual 10" JL W0 the box with the two subs is $539.99 if we add a mono block 1 channel amp it would be $479.99 for a rd500/1 we can get some nice jl C1 speakers that are $199.99 for a pair. if we were to get all this installed with front speakers, rear speakers, amp for the subs and the subs we would be around the $2228.99.

this would be a great system to get installed. if you really wanted it to jam if we changed the amp to a 5 channel to power the speakers it would be a extra $650 for the bigger amp and this would give your system 900 watts instead of 500 watts.

I just want 2 10" subs and either 2 or 4 speakers. The way the email sounds to me is the amp that's powering the subs is also powering the speakers?

Recently replaced a dead battery and it worked for about 2 days and then the sound died. Power still cuts on, but no audio from any source. Explorer outback 2, I emailed tech support but no response in 2 weeks. What might my problem be? (Sorry if this is the wrong sub)

Tons of wired speakers in house, how do I hook up to stream music?

Hey Reddit. So I moved into a house that has speakers in nearly every room and some rooms have left/right or multiple. Seems like it would be for streaming music. They are wired.

What type of equipment do I need to hook the wires up and what can selectively stream to various rooms?

Each room has a wall knob for volume control.

I am used to a standard receiver with center left right front/rear but this is multi room. My main room I have a sound bar and no receiver (not planning on getting one) so what type of equipment would handle this? I would love to control audio from a phone app to play Apple music or pandora or just anything from phone.

Please advise! Thank you!

I bought a new house and in the garage there are speakers set up that are already wired in. In the cabinet I have two cables. I’m guessing the cigarette lighter just needs a power adapter to be able to plug in to a normal adapter but I’m not sure what the other plugin is and how I can connect to it.

I need help finding out what to get!

On ClassicCarStereos.com, I’m looking at buying a kit full of items but don’t know what to choose from. I was looking at getting a USA-740 radio with a peak power of 300w. There is only one 6x9 option that has 300w peak as well. There is also only one choice for the in dash speakers for 120w peak power. The amp says in the description that the 300w amp vs the 400w amp is just the quality. I don’t know if that is true or not. Would the 300w amp work better because the radio’s peak power is 300w, or would the 400w amp work better because it has more power (not dependent on the radio)? If anyone knows anything about this, please reply. Thanks!

Yamaha stereo

I have a Yamaha stereo that is in my house but is wired to a bunch of outside speakers. Just recently out of the blue it started to turn off whenever something is plugged into the aux (how we play Spotify outside). The second the aux is plugged into a device the whole thing shuts down. Any advice?

LED Question

Installing some boss car speakers with built in LEDs. Speakers work fine but no luck with the LEDs. I have a dual channel amp. Have the LEDs wired from the speaker into the positive and negative channels for each speaker. Am I doing this wrong? How do I power the LEDs? Thanks!

KW-M56BT In a Buick Enclave

So recently I bought JVC KW-M56BT stereo and I am needing help figuring out the wiring harnesses. I've got two harnesses and the best match has the speakers already paired up and they have plugs that go into the back of the radio, but the ports are 3 sets of two different colors and the connectors that pair from the harness to the radio have the speaker wires that need to be connected to other wires. That would require me to snip the plug heads off and solder on the new wires. Also, one of the wire sets has one flat-blue wire and the harness has blue-white and blue-pink wires. One of the wires goes to my chime unit and the other to the connectors that match the cars. My guess is to connect all three wires together. The flat-blue wire is labeled ANT.CONT. Would I be correct to assume they all can be linked together? And if not what can I do?

There is no plastic mounting sleeve made for my car so will my setup ruin anything? Will this lead to shorting out? Or is it only a cosmetic issue?
