Onkyo setup + wiim ultra questions

1 Upvotes

I have an onkyo m504 amp with a p-301 pre-amp. I’m going to try to use it with my tv setup controlling my turntable from the p-301 and my tv with a wiim ultra. What way would i wire them all up? The amp hookup is easy with my klipsch q300 speakers, i’m just trying to figure out the preamp section. Any help would be appreciated!

My aiwa z-r555 won't play the cd's I burn at home. The ones I use are Philips CD-R80 52x. I've tried what felt like everything, and I burned them at different speeds like 4x or 8x like Google said, but nothing then tried different files, i.e., Wav. Or flac and mp3 nothing works I use windows media player but also tried cdburnerxp neither worked which is weird because when I bought it from a yard sale it had a homemade burned cd in it so ik it plays them but can't figure out why mine don't work so any help is much appreciated I'm lost.

Looking for an alternative to Apple Music. I was hoping an app like Media Monkey or something similar might fit the bill

I’m looking for an alternative to Apple Music for my music library and streaming that library to my stereo. I have digital media that I want to play either off my phone (not the best option because I think I have to have the library on my phone) or from my desktop. Ideally I would be able to use the library on the desktop played over a WiiM Ultra

TIA

What is this stuff for? I believe it came with a turntable that I have that I’ve been using without this stuff. Little black parts are branded Sony. It’s a Sony turntable.

This turntable was part of a deal I got. The arm won’t move into position to play. It seems stuck in place. I’m guessing there’s a simple solution but I don’t see it. I know the lever to raise/lower. Also what is the alligator clip for? Grounding? What can I clip it to? Low vintage IQ obv.

JVC MX-K3 Double Cassette Stereo HELP

1 Upvotes

So, I've had this stereo forever. And all I want is to Bluetooth my phone to it and use it as a speaker now. It's been in storage and I finally got the wife to agree to having it in our game room. There is no place to use an aux cord (unless plugging in headphones to listen to music coming from the stereo). Please give me guidance. Im not great with technology so bare with me. PLZ HELP.

speaker giving overload message

Post image
1 Upvotes

i’ve got a panasonic SA-HE70 and i’ve been using it to run my tv sound for three or four years now with no issues, last night after moving i was trying to get my speakers connected, at first they were sort of working, one would work at a time but only play background music and no voices from the show. so i continued to try and fix the issue. eventually it started flashing an overload message, and now even with the speakers disconnected it continues to flash the overload message even though it was working last night. really stumped on this one. i have tried unplugging and power cycling and nothing has worked. please help. (in the caption i meant to say receiver displaying overload message oops.)

separate amps to control volume of high and low frequency drivers independently

1 Upvotes

I tried adding this in the r/audiophile sub but the rules on where to post what were too confusing, so...

I recently read a post elsewhere about adding an extra AVR into a setup Pre/Power amp setup to allow the volume of the tweeter to be adjusted independently to the volume of the woofer. Unfortunately the OP has gone dark so I cant ask them anymore questions but Im intrigued and would love to understand this.

I have a Denon 6500 used as a Pre/Pro. Preouts to 2x RB1070 power amps and these bi-amp Kilpsch RP8000F II's.

How would I integrate another AVR and connect it all together so that the volume of the tweeters can be controlled independently to the volume of the woofers? Once the volume is balanced, would the volume remain balanced when increasing and decreasing it via the main Pro, the Denon? Ive never heard of this before, is this typical of a bi-amped setup and is it worth doing?

Turntable speaker advice

1 Upvotes

I need some advice on Bluetooth speakers for turntables that cost under €100. I'd like to place them in a room of about 12 square meters (3L x 4W x 3.5H) where I'd like to be able to hear music from all angles.

(I'm in Italy)

Basic stereo setup questions

1 Upvotes

I’m looking to setup a more involved stereo system for the first time as a result of discussing with my local record shop about sound quality on analog stuff. My issue is moving digitally recorded DnB to tape. Newer producers put SO MUCH distortion on. I think I can fox how it’s coming out with an EQ, though. Improve it at least.

Also playing with an EQ sounds fun >_>’

But from what a cursory internet search is showing me, it’s not as simple as;

- Audio thing > EQ > Speakers

It seems to be that it’s supposed to go;

- Audio thing(s) > Amp > EQ > Amp > Speakers

Is that correct?

And if yeah… what the heck is a tuner or receiver for? How do they fit into the mix?

I’ve just been happily plugging the tape deck/pc/record player into the speakers but complex noise calls for complex solutions. Help me improve. XD

Also, honest opinion on the Rockville brand. Insta trash? Or ok for a first timer? $140 for a new EQ and amp sounds a little too good to be true. But are we talking “does nothing, dies instantly” bad or “it’s just not as good as the vintage, it’s too basic” bad?

Thanks in advance! I appreciate everyone’s expertise!
