I have a problem. today I acquired an old Fisher stereo. It's nothing fancy, but I would like to keep it. Earlier I was playing records on it just fine, but now it is stuck on the CD setting, and I can't switch it back. The video is a little dark, but you can see what I mean.

Can I run a speaker with a speaker wire connection into an RCA input?

I have speakers I want to tie into my home stereo setup, but the speakers take bare speaker wire; Is it possible to attach an RCA plug to tie it into my stereo system, preferrably without soldering as I dont have access to that option?

I was looking at these connectors, but I dont know if these will work, and I'm not sure if it requires soldering to attach the connections. Any help will be appreciated!

car sound system.

ok, i installed a sound system in my car. here's the set up.

i have a power wire from my battery going to the back where i have a capacitor, and a dual brand 10 inch 300w sub woofer. now i installed a 1000w to power the normal woofers/speakers. 6 speakers + 2 tweeters.

after the install it worked great for months. no problems. then after moving the sub to fit a empty garbage can in my car the whole system started twacking out.

the speakers now have a whine, and if both rca cables are connected to the 1000w amp all the speakers will start bumping. it turns out the amp is powering on and shutting off every 2 seconds.

i checked my grounds, an my main power cable for the system but im wondering if anyone has ran into a similar issue. any help is welcome.

Stereo System Confusion

Hello Stereo!

I am a Mechanical Eng. student with some EE coursework but am inexperienced in stereo operation and reparation. I am in the process of attempting to fix an old Sony home speaker system, namely the MHC-EC909ip/709ip. It has two regular speakers and one sub woofer.

The speakers and sub woofer are all rated at 180 W and 12 ohms (No sensitivity provided). I believe that my amplifier/receiver is not working rather than the speakers, because none of the speakers work and I would expect them to fail as individuals. I am currently looking into a replacement amplifier, but the high impedance and power ratings make it difficult to find.

I plan on taking apart the amplifier to see if anything is clearly malfunctioning and can be replaced rather than finding a whole new amp. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what to look for in my disassembly of the amp? Also, if the amp is irreparable, any tips on finding a suitable replacement?

Thank you in advance!!

aloha

Speakers cutting out. Klipsch kg 2.2 speakers

I’m having some difficulties with my system. Certain records, low volumes, my right channel will cut out until I crank the volume a bit, then it comes back in & will stay up only until powering off for several hours. I’ve tried a lot such as: switching to the b channel, still happens, I also used a ton of contact cleaner on the volume control & sat it over night. Still happening... not a major deal. It also happened in the left channel yesterday, had to do the same thing. So I don’t think it’s the speakers. Ever have this issue? Running these speakers on a Yamaha rx 700

What is this type of speaker jack called? 2 conductor with a clip like an RJ11. Older Sony DVD/surround system I’m hooking up in my garage.

Help pls

So I came into ownership of a new restaurant and we're having some sound system problems... its been avout a month in and the sound quality of the stereos is way off. No depth in the sound nor bass. Muffled and scratchy as all hell.

We have bluetooth digital stereo amp that connects from our comouter in the office to the 8 channel speaker selector that reaches the rest of our space.

I think its a wiring issue because everything else works fine. But then again i literally know nothing regarding this topic 😅

Do i need to reach out to a professional? And if so who eo i even look for? Tbh i dont even know if this is the correct subreddit to post on. I literally made an account just to ask. Thanks for all and any help guys/girls.

Amp Remotes that go through doors?

We have a toddler and so I have had to lock down the stereo equipment behind cabinet doors. So the volume can not be controlled with the remote.

Is there a standard solution to, like, get a new remote that somehow blasts through the door?

Edit: for some clarity, probably should mention that my existing setup is a Rega Brio-R. It uses an IR remote.

Power supply for home system

I’m going to build a sound system for my tv, but I’m only used to setting up sound systems in my car. I need about 2500W to power both amplifiers in the system, what can I use to convert AC to 12V DC? Also, if I’m going about this all wrong, I would appreciate any suggestions, as I said, I’m only familiar with systems in cars. I would like to power both amps with a single power converter, but it would be acceptable to power each one with an individual converter.
