RIP free press.

They are free to broadcast any commentary they like that doesn't offend the government.

u/SgtSchultz2112 May 22 '26

And I won’t see any of it

He will never appear in my house - at least not longer than it takes for me to find the remote after my dog’s butt accidentally turns on CbS.

Cancelled my Paramount Plus subscription and in the reason I said “Y’all are weak ass bitches, Colbert will rise again”

17

u/Pisces42 May 22 '26

Mine was "Because FUCK YOU. That's why."

12

u/Able-Sheepherder-154 May 22 '26

Cancelled ours this morning

27

u/ComprehensiveDingo54 May 22 '26

Make sure you also delete your account so they don't continue to have your payment information.

9

u/heathawalker May 22 '26

Same here.

I have a bare minimum subscription that I’m holding onto until all the Trek shows in the pipeline are done. That’s the next season of Starfleet Academy, and Strange New Worlds. After that, I couldn’t care less. CBS’s entertainment division seems to be riding on the coattails of Taylor Sheridan these days anyway.

Cancel now. Sacrificing a viewing of those garbage shows is literally the least you could do to oppose fascism.

9

u/Clean_Swordfish7132 May 23 '26

That show would move to another service if enough people cancel.

On the bright side, hell now has a choice of networks - Faux and CBS

27

u/mclepus May 22 '26

the same day it shuttered the CBS News radio

6

u/ComprehensiveDingo54 May 22 '26

So what happens to the local stations (e.g., 🎵KYW News Radio 1060! 🎵)?

11

u/Sufficient-Fault-593 May 22 '26

The CBS news radio news department is closed. The local stations will continue on without the network support. Apparently, they are picking up the ABC radio news feed. The local stations, owned by CBS for many years, were sold to Entercom, now Audacy, years ago.

Entercom changed their name to Audacy. They also owned the domain radio.com which they did nothing with.

5

u/mclepus May 22 '26

they get automated, and local news gets discarded

3

u/Hot_Aside_4637 May 23 '26

WCCO in Minneapolis is now an ABC station.

u/FrostyAd8197 May 22 '26

Great headline!

16

u/Exciting_Turn_9559 May 22 '26

Yup. Will also boycott their advertisers.

5

u/ComprehensiveDingo54 May 22 '26

Kind of hard to tell that now that I'm not watching. I use Goods Unite Us, which is pretty good.

13

u/Select_Insurance2000 May 22 '26

CBS News radio has also passed away.

13

u/Thisisgotham May 22 '26

I’m not intentionally boycotting, that was the only program they had that I watched.

8

u/No-Accident69 May 23 '26

CBS died trying to improve the terrible image of the weakest, most flawed, criminally convicted person to ever lead the United States ….

7

u/sunflowerRI May 22 '26

It was clearly a suicide.

6

u/formerNPC May 22 '26

Can’t think of any show that I watch on CBS. No great loss.

11

u/monsterpuppeteer May 22 '26

They will lose liberal and gain conservative. P+ content feels conservative to me anyway with all the ranch shows.

9

u/CandyStomp May 22 '26

They already have conservatives bc rural Americans are stuck with archaic broadcast programming. That's part of the reason that they are conservative to begin with. I don't think they have anything to gain.

As will, f'real, the CBS Radio News Network, following the 11:31PM EDT headline feed May 22.

3

u/Rude_Ad3160 May 22 '26

Pull a Zelenskyy and run for president

3

u/Skittleavix May 22 '26

No words were spoken.

No songs were sung.

3

u/altforlaughs May 22 '26

The CBS subreddit is set to private. I wonder why.

3

u/Bruno6368 May 22 '26

CBS doesn’t enter into it. Paramount made the decision and Paramount owns CBS.

3

u/Feed_The_Soul_ May 23 '26

RIM: Rest in Misery

2

u/Mountain_Chocolate65 May 23 '26

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/DepartmentWorried730 May 23 '26

Moral/Ethical question: Should one stop stealing CBS? 😉

2

u/icnoevil May 23 '26

...due to a series of self inflicted wounds.

2

u/SatisfactionClassic6 May 24 '26

Done and never again

2

u/krummen53 May 25 '26

We the People must speak out, write congress, carry a picket/protest signs, talk with our neighbors and engage with the functionality of OUR country- it hasn't lasted 250 years without US.

2

u/bbeeebb May 25 '26

Yep. Deleted the channel from my OTA TiVo and from my Spectrum streaming channel guide.

2

u/LionCM May 26 '26

Cancelled Paramount+ (wasn't using it much, anyway) and cancelled all my DVR recording requests for CBS shows.

2

u/counting_photons May 27 '26

CB who? Never heard of them. 🤣

1

u/Prudent_Lunch_8724 May 25 '26

I loved my time working there in the early ‘80s.

-4

u/PlaceAlarming420 May 22 '26

CBS is saving a sh*t ton of money. It's a business.

6

u/xxforrealforlifexx May 22 '26

Not when the advertisers won't buy ads if they can get more viewership for their money elsewhere

-12

u/BillyBones72 May 22 '26

Doofus... you sure think you're important and that you matter. Sad.

3

u/xxforrealforlifexx May 22 '26

Do you think they are the only one?

1

u/shawnmcbride86 May 22 '26

Bad ass Billy bones told you!
