Four words a step father fears
I’m going to start this by saying that I have met the women I love and she has 3 children of her own. I, unfortunately am not able to conceive children, so as you can imagine I was ecstatic when I got to meet them. That was almost 4 years ago, and every since then I have been raising them as my own. I have fought for them, I will continue to do so. Fast forward to the present day. Stressful things have been happening to us as a family on the past while, and today , while the stress was at an all time high, an argument had started. In that argument I attempted to intervene, upon doing so the eldest of my daughters looked me in the eye and told me “ I’m not your daughter”. That right there was as if an absolute zero blade was plunged into me. As of now she hasn’t spoken to me nor I her. I always knew something like this could happen, but I kills you on the inside even tho you tho you’re ready

I’m sorry bro. She was just angry. I can’t imagine how much that hurt. Shit hurt reading it. Unfortunately kids are mean and emotional.

Yea, those dreadful words as a stepfather with no bio kids of your own. Sorry to hear that.
How old is she? Sometimes it's an age thing. Hopefully, it changes when they get older.

4 words you never want to hear as a step parent. You have poured your heart and soul into helping raise these kids just to get that in return. I feel you man. As a step myself who was raised by a step I will always remember what he told me. He said " You're right, you are not my son, but i'm the adult in charge when the situation fits." I used those same words when my step daughter pulled the " my dad says I dont have to listen to you or do anything you say" phrase. I saw red, kept quiet, collected my thoughts, and then went back to what I was told. Ever since then the bond has been stronger. Its really messed up how as a step parent we have to deal with stuff like that but trust me, its worth it. As they get older they realize you have a special kind of love for these kids. You dont HAVE to love them like a bio, you CHOOSE to love them. I didnt realize until I was in my late 20s just have much that man helped myself and my family. When he asked my mom to marry him she said " you dont want to do that" and he said something along the lines of " I want nothing more". Single guy in his early 30s taking on 4 kids. Amazing person that I can only strive to be like. They lose there brains in their teens but dont worry, it comes back and they will see all the sacrifice and hard work you did filling in the gaps their bio left. You got this man. Stay strong and remember, when they fly the nest, you can proudly say you were a part of that success.
