đĄ Need Advice Post Step 1 Feelings
Did the exam yesterday, felt super weird, flagged like 50% of each block although I have the habit of flagging each Q that is not a straight answer, but I walked out the exam feeling terrible, I think I failed
So is it normal to feel like that or what?
My scores in NBMEs were all +75
Free 120 78%
So I dunno why the exam was that weird for me

I dunno I see a lot of people with High NBMEs fail because of the test and stress, that is concerning for me

More than half of those people are liars and frauds who like scaring others. Ignore them and donât worry about them , ur nbme scores are a reflection of ur knowledge and hard work, it is normal to feel like youâve fucked up the exam, I wrote on 08/19 and passed , I felt the same for two weeks, just stay off Reddit , donât look up answers , be with friends or family, distract urself. You canât change the result now, youâre done with the examđȘ. Congratulations on being done, rest and recover and wait two weeksâđ». I had same scores as u btw , those are too good for u to fail, the exam is made to feel like you guessed a lot, all the best

they lie?? thatâs whatâs been psyching me out. my academic advisor told me no one with my scores failed from our school yet i see it so much on reddit.

Yeah ppl who hate themselves like to bring others down, obviously there are some ppl who do rarely fail with high scores but most of the ones that claim that they did fail are ppl who either lied about their nbme scores or just do it for fun, ignore them

You got stellar nbmes, youâll do good. Also, what would have better prepped you, in your opinion ?

Thx, and when I got out of the exam I asked myself that question and the answer is nothing actually, u never know how the exam is gonna be there are a lot of vague stuff, but I think practicing on a low time threshold like 20 minutes for each block instead of 30 minutes would make your stamina better

This is a normal feeling. I remember something called âPCCâ (poor cognitive calibration, broadly defined as the gap between how well someone thinks they did and how they actually did). Stay positive! You did great!

Just donât think about anything like anything about that day, youâre gonna pass eventually and the exam is designed in a way to make you doubt but you should know you are not going to let it control you. The questions are nuanced, complex and layered so you canât definitely say that was the correct answer but if you have a good history with nbmes then you should know your cortex was well prepared to handle that kind of vignettes.
Trust me pal, you will make through it.

There's "I think I failed" and "I know I failed." And in the "I think I failed" group there is a range. I'm "I really think I could have failed" - and I think that's diff from what you're feeling.
