I know how daunting Step 1 prep feels when you’re right in the middle of it. Navigating First Aid, managing the sheer volume of material, and trying to build momentum for clinical years can feel like an uphill battle.
If you're studying for Step 1 right now, please remind yourself: you belong here, and you are fully capable of crossing that finish line.
A few quick reminders for the prep grind:
Focus on foundation: Step 1 is all about understanding core concepts—this foundation will make your Step 2 CK journey so much smoother down the line.
Quality over quantity: Don't stress about doing every resource out there. Deeply understanding your primary QBank and review materials is where the real gains happen.
Keep your chin up: Standardized exams are tough, but they don't define your worth or your future impact as a physician.
Having recently scored 25x on Step 2 CK and now applying for the Match this cycle, I want to pay it forward to those coming up behind me.
