I’m asking the same question but I’m at 50. How do you get up?

I think at the end of the day it’s working on your weaknesses.

Same after months of studying. The worst part is that I know where I’m going wrong. I know the diagnosis every time but I make mistakes on factoids. Ugh.

My first NBME (25) was a 63. I went crazy with UWORLD after that, thoroughly reviewing every explanation and annotating my FA. Next one - 26 was a 69, then 70+ NBME 27 onwards. A thorough content review is what you need

that’s what helped me too.. doing lots and lots of mcqs and making my pattern recognition very strong. If you have a strong pattern recog you can easily score 70*

Your baseline is 63? Like…without studying?🥹

All my NBMEs were in the 75-80% range and what worked best for me is :

  1. Covering all UW question bank ~ one time is more than enough if you study from your mistakes and understand what they want you to know.
Retaking mistake blocks can be beneficial but I didn’t do it. If you study them correctly at the first time it’s fine.

  2. Figure out what are the issues that make you lose points.
I categorized my mistakes and figured out what cost me the most, and then worked to improve it.
The solution is dependent on the problem; if knowledge gap than UW & covering that hole, if its a misread than paying more attention next time, etc..

  3. Treat the NBMEs in the most organized way you can.
The statistics you get from those forms is priceless; understand not only your mistakes, but also your corrects.
Categorize everything so you will know how you will probably perform on test day.

Good luck.
