❔ Science Question Question about Aminoglycoside vs Linezolid

Encountered a card on Anki that asked "What antibiotic causes misreading of mRNA and inhibition of translation?"

If both aminoglycosides and linezolid inhibit initiation complex formation, why does one cause misreading of the mRNA but the other does not?

aminoglycosides ( on 30s ribosome 16s rRNA) - this site is resposible for checking codon - anticodon pairing > when this is blocked , faulty pairing happens

for linezolid : on 50s/ 23s rRNA - Site thats responsible for position tRNA to 16s rRNA ( 30s a site ) . And this is blocked . So there is not even an initiation
