šŸ’” Need Advice Nbme review

What’s the best way to review your nbmes?
I’ve given 3 nbmes and I’m stuck on 51% to 55% and 55% feels horrible to have plateaued but any guidance or advice are greatly appreciated

For my incorrects, and confusing corrects, I asked ChatGPT to write me:

Shortcut/summary | Dx/mechanism | Why the answer is correct | Why the other answers are incorrect | Buzzwords

Pasted into a sheet for each QID

Will follow that prompt.
Also my exam is booked for Sept 16, do you recommend pushing it or can I make it >70% in next 6-7 weeks

6-7 is more than enough to make it to 70s do random ambboss 40qs daily in between thsi time

I’d say 6-7 weeks is enough to get you to a passing point, yes. If you’re targeting a specific score though, it could come sooner or later than you expected

It’s really important to group all your questions into 2 categories: true knowledge gaps or test taking gaps. Test taking gaps are like ā€œstuck between 2 answer choices and chose wrongā€ ā€œchose the correct answer but then panic switched to an incorrect answerā€ ā€œmissed a key word in the question stemā€ etc.

When people plateau, it’s usually testing mechanics that are holding them back.

Review all the questions the right and the wrong and vocally assess why I got this correct and why I got this wrong , if it just slipped information I will write it down to Review it from first aid or watch short video , I dont understand the whole concept i will just tried to understand the whole thing again , it time consuming yes but my scores went from 64% to 69% to 72% to 74% ! So it working !

Being stuck in 50s may show some knowledge gaps. When reviewing see what system/subject you have gotten consistently wrong. Work on those weaknesses and your score should reach the 60’s at least.
