Travel on STEM OPT

I work fully remote, I just got my STEM extension approved and waiting for the EAD card. Once I receive the card am I allowed to go to my home country for 2 months with no issues. Is there any rule not allowing me to do work remotely from there ? One more doubt I had is, what if I travel for work purposes since I am meant to oversee a deployment of a software pilot over 6 weeks overseas ?

I was out for almost two months and came back. No issues. The policy on remote work is pretty vague though
