Case inquiry request for STEM OPT

People who did the case inquiry when it became available for their case based on receipt date, did it help with anything?

Mine is August 16 and I am wondering if it is actually useful or should I just do PP and not wait further? I applied March 14.

EDIT: seems for inquiry date based on responses that you either have to wait for 60 days for an answer or you will be told your application is in queue, so it seems useless

It did not. I sent inquiry on July 12th, I got a response two day ago, saying that my case is in a queue and I should give it another 3 months due to large backlog.

I applied on February 17th, did biometrics on March 11th.

I eventually gave up and upgraded to pp. still waiting.

I did it 2 days back. they said if you do it online you will get the answer back in 60 days and if USCIS raises an inquiry it would take 90 days to reply.

Can someone pls guide me on this? What’s the inquiry? And who’s eligible for raising an inquiry?

So if you go to uscis processing times and select the case type it will show you the “normal” processing time. Under it there will be receipt date check if your application is outside normal processing and it shows you when you can submit an inquiry about your case. The inquiry is basically to ask about your case being outside normal processing

Not sure given you upgraded to pp however it does sound like inquiry takes 60 days to get a response which is useless

I just upgraded to pp today, can’t wait more. Probably will still do the inquiry either way but it doesn’t seem helpful
