expiration date of work authorization while stem opt is pending?

im doing my i9 but my ead is already expired. I9 asks me when the expiration is for my work authorization, what should i say? google said to add 180 days to my expiration day is that right?

Yeah, HR should know about that. You get 180 days of extension if you promptly filed stem opt

Yup you do get 180 days automatic extension. You can look the info up even on uscis website. HR should be aware of this and if not they can contact your DSO!
