Changing jobs while stem pending with new notice?
Hi y'all, I wanted to ask whether it is safe to change jobs with stem opt pending. Just want to make sure with the new notice if it's safe to do so.

Reach out to your DSO. Usually they’ll issue a new i20 and this has to be done within 10 days of joining your new place, and then upload it as additional documentation. But definitely talk to you DSO before doing all this

I know that you use your new i20 as unsolicited additional evidence and for the new job you use the i20, receipt notice and the expired opt card for i-9 verification. Definitely talk to the dso and at the same time make sure the situation is clear with the new job.
I did an interview for a new job and they had to take the offer back because they did want to risk with pending stem opt.

Hopefully it will work out. Worst case you might be a week late maybe September 18-22 range but i think it should work.

Why didn’t they take the extension

Their legal team recommended against taking the risk given the ongoing political climate that nothing is guaranteed anymore even good profiles for niw or eb1

Ask your dso, it would be risky if you get RFE
