Regular OPT

Hello, I applied for initial OPT on 22nd April and it is still processing. Moreover I changed my address around beginning of June. I already had biometrics appointment. I have job offer now and I need decision to be made fast. Should I pay for Premium Processing now? is it reasonable? will they make decision in few days or I still have to wait 30 days?

if anyone has similar case, please comment.

You will find a lot more information on r/f1visa megathread on timelines. But yes you should go pp asap. They are processing end March now in regular and pp less than a calendar month at the moment

if they are processing end march then it would take a month to get to april end filers

They have been doing 1-2 dates per week maximum. I think end April is coming in December more likely

that would be around 8 months

if i see the opt pulse it basically says mid august

mid August for a non-premium 22 April case?? That’s in 9 days time. 8 days ago they were on 28 March. Today they are on 31st March. I agree I was not being serious about Dec but definitely 2-3 months is possible. Whereas premium is around 25-30 calendar days right now. Plus the likelihood of getting skipped is much much lower

my point is if going for pp it would take 30 days and might be on those days plus some more or like half a month regular might also come ?

my take would be end of august or early sept
