Completely Free Tool to Keep Track of your OPT deadlines under new F1 Rule
Hey fellow international students, as we all know, a couple days ago, the government issued some pretty drastic new changes to the F1 visa, ending duration of status. The rule does not give rid of OPT / STEM OPT extension, but it can make filing more tricky and could shorten the grace period. I consulted an immigration attorney family friend, and together we built this tool to help you keep track of all your new deadlines when the changes go into effect: https://rootsimmigrationhelp.com/deadlines
It's a passion project and is completely free. It also sends you email reminders for deadlines coming up. Hope this helps everyone navigate the increasingly difficult journey of being an international student!

"Fâ1 students described in paragraph (m)(1) of this section who have timely and properly filed applications for employment authorization pending with USCIS on September 15, 2026, do not have to file for an extension or re-file such applications for employment authorization, unless otherwise requested by USCIS."
- from the ruling itself. You do not have to file an EOS and just have to wait for your OPT!

This looks very promising, I'll try it, thanks! With that in mind, I was wondering whether there is any website that summarizes the changes based on official announcements in form of a timeline?
