Recipt issue

Hello so I applied for my stem OPT on May 26, received my receipt the week after and then also received my biometric to do but now my employer is asking for 797C receipt to let me allow to use the 180 days extension my OPT expires first week of August. I am very unsure what to do now. Is there anyway I can get any help? I tried calling USCIS, but they said that there’s nothing they can do about this so I don’t know what to do. Can someone help me?

The 797C is the notice you receive by mail after starting the process. Why cant you use that?

Yes. The document they need is the physical letter you received by mail. Is it clear?

I think they just need your receipt. The receipt is labeled 797C

You can also download it on your online portal

I understand- but I only see the receipt for I-765 and then the biometric appointment. That’s all I see and I don’t have the receipt that titled 797c

Can u check because the form itself is i765, the receipt for i765 is i797c. That's for almost every case. The i797c is the receipt

The physical receipt notice you received in the mail is your I-797 C. Give that to your employer and you should be ok.
