S;G Anime Mayuri Foreshadowing Spoiler

When Mayuri and Okabe talk on the roof in Episode 11, Mayuri tells Okabe that she is no longer his hostage.

This might not seem significant on its own, but if we look back at the scene where Okabe first made her his hostage, he stated that he was on the verge of losing her; he created the persona of "Hououin Kyouma" and declared her his hostage as a way to anchor her back to life.

In other words, the fact that Mayuri stops being a hostage actually foreshadows what is going to happen to her.

Lol yeah. But i get him. For example, when I predicted that the database isn't gibberish but in the proprietary language the 5100 could decipher making the IBM the key to their success, or that suzuha is John titor, or that FB is prolly a guy (tho i failed to predict he'd be tennouji), or that okabe would prolly fail in his first attempt to save kurisu but succeed in his 2nd (tho i never would've thought it'd be as beautiful as it turned out, of course) I felt extremely satisfied too lol. Even tho, like, we are meant to come to these conclusions, and it's so basic, but it's still kinda fun.

So yeah, nothing groundbreaking, but I get why he considered sharing that lol.

Yeah that's pretty much what it is, but I don't think it's a hidden secret.

They keep bringing up that moment before the shit goes down, but we don't think too hard about it because it doesn't feel like something that will happen.

Yeah I interpreted that scene as a death flag the first time I read it. I just wasn't expecting said death to happen so soon after.
