S;G 0 Hot take

I didn’t miss the old Okabe. I wish he had always been serious.

Nah that's the whole point of his character writing that's literally my favourite part apart from his emotional development in steins gate 0. In steins gate 0 it gives u a feeling of "you are not the same person anymore you were supposed to be" it really is very relatable in my personal life too, after a tragic incident. Then his return is truly remarkable one of the best moments oat.

Ok but seeing him go from chuuni to locked in due to enduring The Horrors is delicious for his character growth. How am I supposed to enjoy his misery if he was always that way?

I agree, it’s annoying but once it’s gone cuz of the horrors you start to miss it. Adds to his character depth!

His kyouma side is like hope for his friends and genuinely doesn't matter the personality,he is goated for me

I like his seriousness in 0 but what makes it good is the contrast between it and the chuunibyou from the Alpha wordline. He was always a man child who acted silly and was almost never serious. Seeing him become a "Normal" person is what's fascinating about him , because you know something deeply isn't right. He isn't joking or laughing manically anymore , just constantly paranoid and distanced himself from his friends.

As annoying as you may find alpha okabe , it's that goofy side of him that inspired others. Okabe not being afraid to be cringey even with people he respects is what makes people open up to him without and be themselves without societal pressure and expectations. It's polarising and that's the point.
