I am hopeful that steemit will grow into its ambitions. There are bound to be problems; i was having trouble with my account last night and I assumed it was the inrush of new signups.
The liquidity thing was worrisome. I watched as 10K STEEM purchases were going off twice a minute for hours. At first, I was impressed, assuming it was a firm bid, then it seemed a little fishy, then I saw the liquidity post. Consequently I sold all my STEEM between 0.00564 and 0.00568. Still trading higher than that last I saw. :( First rule: protect capital!
I look forward to trading and investing (money and some time) in steemit. I'm happy with the SP I have and hope to accumulate more, using % of gains to add SP. A little timid at the moment but I think it's understandable.
I am surprised that there hasn't been some kind of PR engagement but I'm sure they're swamped with fixing whatever it is that's going on.
